Green Isles Press is a personal project of Patrick Gallagher, known professionally as Dr. W. Patrick Gallagher. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Penn State and M.S. and Ph. D. degrees in Chemistry from Carnegie Mellon University. His education also includes graduate study in Philosophy at San Jose State University, where he passed the qualifying exam for an M. A. in Philosophy, but did not complete a dissertation or the degree.
Patrick had a long career in materials research and engineering in the steel and defense industries, continuing as a contract technical writer and editor after his retirement from full-time employment. His interest in computers and photography evolved into expertise in desktop publishing, and his writing of Japanese short form poetry led to experience in writing, designing, editing, and publishing books in that genre. In recent years he has provided help to other writers in editing and preparing their works for conventional or independent publishing.
